Network collaboration
Karakter International is dedicated to enhancing psychiatric care for children and adolescents through various collaborative projects. By below network initiatives, we aim to foster cross-border cooperation and advance global mental health care.
ENCAP
Karakter is part of the Euregional Network for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (ENCAP).
Together with our German partners LVR Bedburg-Hau, LVR Düsseldorf, LVR Essen, LVR Viersen and the Dutch health care provider VIGO, Vincent van Gogh we aim to improve psychiatric care for children and adolescents in the Euregio Rhine-Waal region.
The network promotes collaboration and knowledge exchange between experts and professionals in Germany and the Netherlands. Through this exchange of knowledge, both countries can benefit from each other's insights and better understand and address common challenges.

Bonaire Project
Karakter is part of a collaborative effort with Mental Health Caribbean, Levvel, and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the Bonaire Project.
This project focuses on providing child and adolescent psychiatrists from Dutch organizations on a rotational basis to the Dutch Caribbean. Our partnership aims to improve and further develop mental health care in the region. Additionally, we offer internship opportunities for residents, enhancing their training and contributing to the advancement of psychiatric care in the Dutch Caribbean. This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to global mental health improvement for Dutch citizens.
Euregio
We work closely together with the Euregio Rhine-Waal, a Dutch-German public body, with around 50 municipalities and regional authorities as members.
The Euregio Rhine-Waal aims to improve and intensify cross-border cooperation by providing knowledge and connecting partners, to leverage synergy effects.
