The treatment of anorexia is an emotional challenge for patients, their environment and their therapists. The condition is complex and can have life-threatening consequences. Treatment teams regularly struggle with ethical and emotional dilemmas and a sense of powerlessness. Do you recognize this?
On January 22, 2025, we will discuss the results of a qualitative study into the experiences and needs of therapists in the Netherlands and Germany who work with young people with anorexia. The challenges that Dutch and German treatment teams in the Euregio Rhine-Waal area experience are compared from the different care systems and cultural perspectives. With this research we want to gain new insights that can strengthen the resilience of therapists and treatment teams. This ultimately benefits patients.
